Swim Families,

We have decided as a Board  not to participate in the 2020 Maverick Swim League.  I have several members, including myself, who are not willing to take the risk.  We are concerned about the impact participating in the swim meets will have on our children, families, and coaching staff.  Based on information we are receiving from our government and health experts, the COVID-19 virus will be with us for quite some time.  There is uncertainty when we will be able to get back to our normal activities, and use of facilities such as The Oaks community swimming pool. 

At this time, we do not have a vaccine for COVID-19 which puts our community's health at an increased risk. We believe social distancing will also be with us for quite some time, and our government and health experts have not provided us guidance on how to address these situations which would impact how our meets would be held, etc.  It's hard to say if we will have clarity about much of this by the end of next month.  

We have enough information to make this decision today, which minimizes putting our children and families at risk beyond what we have to do in order to maintain our day-to-day needs.  Please let me know if you have ANY questions.  Thank you so much, and God bless you.
